A Nautilus member is attempting a virtual Kiltwalk in April to raise funds for the Mission to Seafarers.
UK National Committee chair Iain MacKenzie, with professional development provider Sea Wellbeing, will walk 1.7 million steps – one for each seafarer in the world.
The aim is to raise £5,000 for the Mission wearing the Pride of Scotland tartan.
'When things go wrong and seafarers find themselves in trouble, the Mission is a beacon that offers help and support,' Mr MacKenzie said.
Philanthropic venture The Hunter Foundation will top up donations by 50% up to £5,000 per walker.
Since 2016, Kiltwalkers have raised £20 million for over 2,100 charities.
