Nautilus members hit financially by the coronavirus pandemic are now eligible for a Nautilus Covid-19 hardship grant being administered by the Seafarers Advice and Information Line (SAIL).

The special fast-tracked hardship grant is designed to assist members struggling to buy food and other essential items. Applicants can also find assistance to request a mortgage holiday or rental payment holiday.

Members are advised to contact SAIL, for advice on how to apply.

Members will be asked to provide relevant information for the application, which can include recent bank statements, landlord or mortgage provider details, savings information, final bill demands on utilities, Council Tax bills, and details of credit card or other debts.

Applications will be processed within a few days and grants paid according to the terms agreed by Nautilus. Payments will be made directly to applicants if they have provided details of their bank account.

SAIL is run by Greenwich Citizens Advice Bureaux on behalf of the Seafarers Hospital Society and is funded in partnership with Seafarers UK and Greenwich Hospital.
