Members reject Boskalis Marine Services pay and pensions offers

9 November 2020

Nautilus has gone back to the negotiating table with Boskalis Marine Services (ex-Smit MoD) after members voted to reject the company's two pay and pensions offers.

Nautilus members in this part of the Boskalis group work on vessels contracted to the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD). These vessels protect the sea danger area at Army firing ranges; act as marine platforms for helicopter winching; act as marine vessels for board and search exercises; tow marine targets for live aerial firing exercises; and act as a marine platform for sea survival drills and other marine tasking.

There were two options put to the vote in October 2020:
Option one: A one-year settlement comprising of a straightforward across-the-board pay increase of 1.5% plus an increase of 0.5% employer pension contribution.
Option two: A one-year settlement comprising of a straightforward across-the-board pay increase of 1% plus an increase of 1% employer pension contribution.

As neither of these options proved acceptable to members, Nautilus organiser Lisa Carr is seeking a further meeting in order to reach a more satisfactory position.
